Ferris Stuart has two missions to accomplish while on vacation on Oahu research for a new Hawaiian Islands themed hotel and have a little fun, something he hasn't had much of since his partner died two years ago. So far he's managed to halfheartedly accomplish the first task; however, he's failing miserably at the second. That is, until a charming islander shows him both the locale and how to start living again.

Eden Winters has always been one of my favorites. She's got a wide range of talents - possum shifters (Naked Tails), drug enforcement boys (Bo and Lucky in Diversion and Collusion). She can write beautiful romance, heart wrenching angst, light and humorous. She's a (to use the vernacular of Naked Tails) Jill of all trades.Summer Boys tells the tale of Ferris. A man so hopelessly in love with his partner that when the man died two years ago, his world fell apart. He no longer socializes with friends or family. He's a shell of the man he used to be. When he goes to Hawaii to learn some tricks to setting up a new hotel in Florida, he is taken by Miko, one of the performers in a group. Miko, it seems, it just as smitten with Ferris. Unfortunately, Ferris cannot let go of his past and it's destroying his future. When Miko tells Ferris the story of his life, Ferris finally realizes that moving on doesn't mean letting go.
Eden tells a wonderful story for these two men. I was taken in by her descriptions, their passion, and coming to terms with their lives and how they fit together. Or don't.
